What is vinyl flooring?
Vinyl flooring is a new type of resilient flooring for offices. Essentially, vinyl flooring is simply artificial composite floors made of materials such as rubber, plastic, PVC and vinyl. Vinyl flooring is a cost efficient substitute to natural floors such as concrete, ceramic and marble and definitely looks just as good.
There are three types of wear surfaces:
- Vinyl No-Wax – This is a clear vinyl top coating. It is the least durable and you’ll need to apply a polish periodically to help maintain its luster.
- Urethane Finish – A urethane-coated finish that provides greater durability and is more resistant to stains, wear, etc.
- Enhanced Coatings and Urethane – These are the more advanced coatings in the market and they provide the greatest amount of protection. They may include chemicals like aluminium oxide which is a very hard and durable material used to extend the life of the wear surface.
As a floor product, vinyl comes in several forms:
- Sheet – Vinyl sheet flooring is typically 6 or 12 feet wide and comes in rolls. The wider sheet stock is better for minimizing seams since a good installer might be able to cover your office flooring with no seams.
- Tiles or Planks – Vinyl tile flooring affords various design options through the use of different colored tiles. Planks are usually associated with vinyl tile flooring products that mimic the look of a hardwood floor.
What so good about Vinyl Flooring:
- Cost efficient – wood, concrete, ceramic & marble (natural floors) substitute.
- Cushion effects – reduce impact of heavy objects.
- High Durability – high water & scratch resistance.
- Non slippery & anti-accident.
- Easy to maintain.
- New technology & glue-less installation system.
